Empowering Detroit Communities
-
I will introduce new legislation for funding that will pay Financial Organizations (public and private) to teach the importances of Credit and Financial literacy in our low-income areas in order to help decrease the wealth gap within the City.

I will work with other government agencies to create incentives for Detroit businesses who hire Detroit residents.
-
I will push to increase DDOT budget in order to purchase 150 additional transit buses, in order to decrease wait times and prevent overcrowded buses during peak hours of travel.
Affordable Housing
-
I will introduce new legislation for a Rent-To-Own program that will allow for low-income residents to purchase property from the city of Detroit.
-
I will push for an increase in funding for more affordable houses to be developed and sold directly to low-income families.
-
I will push to make it easier for Detroiters to purchase and renovate properties from the Detroit Land Bank Authority. I will introduce a new ordinance instructing the Detroit Land Bank Authority to offer ONLY Detroit residents a land-contract option to purchase property. This will allow for more Detroiters to afford to purchase property.

I will advocate for additional funding for the Detroit Police Department (DPD) to have access to new technology that will allow them to work more efficiently in order to minimize crime.
-
I will advocate for more funding for the organizations that work directly with the police force for intentional partnerships between the community and law enforcement.

Ban scrapping and stop Recycling Companies from purchasing items from scrappers. In Detroit for the past several decades homes and commercial properties have been stripped and destroyed by bad actors that vandalize vacant/empty properties, stealing steel and copper pipes, aluminum materials, appliances, and much more.
